Catholic Project serves the Church as part of The Catholic University of America, so fostering education and formation is central to our mission. We sponsor and promote educational programs here at the university.
The Certificate in Child Protection and Safe Environments
The Certificate in Child protection and Safe Environment (‘Child Protection Certificate’) provides training for students on the effects of trauma and sexual abuse. Students who receive this education will be able to more effectively respond to survivors and navigate difficult conversations around sexual violence.
Courses in this interdisciplinary certificate are taught by experts in the National Catholic School of Social Service, the School of Theological and Religious Studies, the Columbus School of Law, and the School of Canon Law.
Beginning in the Fall of 2020, the certificate program will be available online, which will make this certificate available to students across the country and even internationally. Diocesan staff, victims’ assistance coordinators, educators, social workers, and anyone responsible for Child Protection, in or outside of the Catholic Church.
Management as Ministry
The goal of Management as Ministry is to provide seminarians and newly ordained priests with a foundational understanding of business best practices. Partnering with The Catholic University of America's School of Business, a curriculum was established that will be the foundation of a 4-day workshop consisting of the essentials of finance, management and accounting centered on virtue and ministry.
